Dingle Dell, Croyde Bay
About Dingle Dell
“A special place, hidden at the heart of Croyde.”
Croyde is shaped like a horseshoe — lively and social around the rim, calm at the centre. And right at that hub, quietly tucked just behind the village’s main rhythm, you’ll find Dingle Dell.
One of only five chalets in this secluded spot, Dingle Dell offers a peaceful retreat just moments from everything. Stroll to the beach. Wander through the village. Then retreat to your own private veranda, where the morning sun arrives early and breakfast always seems to last longer than it should.
This is the sort of place where you can park the car for the week and forget it exists. Most mornings begin with a pre-breakfast walk — to the dunes, along Baggy Point, or straight down to the sea for a swim. Then it’s back for coffee and toast on the veranda, where the light pours in and time slows down.
There are plenty of holiday lets in Croyde — but there’s only one Dingle Dell.
It isn’t just a chalet. It’s a story. A secret. A place that means something, especially to those lucky enough to have stayed before. This isn’t a revolving door for random bookings. It’s for families, for friends, for people who get it. Those who arrive quietly, kindly, and leave with stories to pass down.
We’ve built Dingle Dell around memories — not just of holidays gone by, but of how we want holidays to feel now: warm, welcoming, a little nostalgic, and a lot more human.
That’s why this website is starting to feel like a book. Every page reflects the care and thought we’ve poured in — from the reclaimed pine boards glowing with Christmassy warmth, to the engineering you’ll never see but feel in the open plan calm. From the 'big drawer' full of puzzles and games, to the sofa that insists you stop and nap. Every part of Dingle Dell is there because it mattered enough to get right.
And yes — we’ve modernised. Quietly. Thoughtfully. The original had no foundations; now it’s built to last another lifetime. We didn’t rebuild Dingle Dell — we revived it. We reloved it.
We welcome those who want to be in the guest book — the real one. Not just a formality, but a keepsake of all those who belong. But getting in the book is only half the privilege. Staying in it — that’s about respect. About kindness. About understanding that this is a home built with heart and history.
This is not a place to simply tick off a Croyde getaway. If that’s what you’re after, there’s plenty of choice around the village. But if you want a place your children — and your grandchildren — will remember and return to, you’ve found it.
People walk down the lane and tell us stories of staying here when they were children. That says it all.
This is Dingle Dell. Built with purpose. Designed and crafted with love.
A place where stories start, and where some families — perhaps yours — return to continue theirs.
