Staying At Dingle Dell

A sunlit lane in Croyde with a slate sign politely explaining this isn’t the way to the beach, pubs, Ruda or the village — not that anyone reads it, as Google Maps still leads hopeful wanderers down the wrong path.

The Last 70 Yards
You’re nearly here.

Please take this moment to slow down.
Let the lane ease you into your holiday.
This is a place where children play, where wildlife wanders, and where quiet arrivals are part of the charm.

Let the bunnies hop. Don’t startle the pigeons. Watch for the badger.
And if the squirrel wants a race… let him win.

Arrive kindly. Arrive quietly… and relax.

About Your Stay

The usual holiday at Dingle Dell runs Saturday to Saturday, with check-in from 2pm. We like to welcome our guests personally and show you around — how things work, answer your questions, and pass on a few local tips. If you're delayed in traffic or need a later check-in, just let us know. We’re flexible, but communication is key.

Check-out is by 10am, which gives us the time we need to get Dingle Dell ready for the next guests. If you’re leaving earlier than expected, a quick text helps us more than you might realise — it let’s us get ahead of the day.

Bedding & Beds

We supply all the bedding and tea towels.
Bedroom two is flexible — it can be made up as a single, twin or double. Please let us know your preference before your stay so we can make it up right for you.

Please strip the beds before you leave, it makes an enormous difference to the turnaround.

Breakages

We understand that sometimes things break — it’s part of life.
What helps us most is a quick message so we can bring a replacement with us, rather than discovering a missing item when we’re preparing for the next guests.

Parking

Parking is in the shared grass car park that serves Dingle Dell, The Dunes and Heatherdale. There are two spaces allocated to Dingle Dell — one is marked, the other is our spare.

Because of the layout, driving nose-in to the fence is the easiest way to park. When you leave, reverse back to the gate of The Hut and then up the lane. Trying to reverse into the space on arrival will cause more stress than it’s worth — and provide far too much entertainment for onlookers!

If the grass is damp or wet, don’t turn the wheel while stationary — it causes bald spots on the turf. If your wheels slip, more revs will just dig you in further. Ease off and re-approach slowly.

Dogs

We love dogs — but we don’t allow them at Dingle Dell.
That’s not because we’re mean, but because experience has taught us that chalet holidays and dogs don’t mix well.
Separation anxiety means mournful wailing, and with a ban on dogs on the beach during summer, a week at Dingle Dell isn’t fun for your best friend. Even our own dogs never stayed here.

Facilities

There’s a fridge, freezer, and washing machine (for emergencies. You’re on holiday, not staff!)
Hot water is via inline instant heaters, and the electric shower keeps up well with South West Water’s seasonal quirks. We’ll show you how they work when you arrive — no guessing needed.
